  3. Donald Eugene Turner

    Donald Eugene Turner passed away on March 16, 2011 with his beloved companion of 25 years, Dorothy Gray at his side. Donald was born on April 16, 1922 in Portland, Oregon, and spent his early years in Wisconsin, and then settled in Southern California. A longtime member of Newport Beach Country Club, he enjoyed golf with his friends. He loved his weekly bridge game, and riding his bike on the many local bike trails with his buddies and family. He was a long time volunteer at SOS (Share Our Selves). At home, he loved gardening and working on his stamp collection. Donald and Dorothy loved cruising and travelled all over the world. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine. He will be deeply missed by his son, Richard (Cheryl), grandson Richard (Patti) and granddaughter Marti (Jay), and four great grandchildren, Logan, Colby Donald, Brady, and Carsyn; Also, Dorothy’s children, Dhyana (Paul), Nancy Lynn (John), and Robert (Jutta), and grandson Daniel. Donald will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for family and friends, and his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Donald lived a full wonderful life and was loved by all. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in his name may be made to Share Our Selves (SOS), 1550 Superior Ave., Costa Mesa, 92627.
