Wright State 80, UC Irvine 42

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Sophomore reserve Jenny Dee had nine points, all on three-pointers, to lead the Anteaters in the second game of the round-robin Purdue tournament on Saturday.

Irene Chavez had eight points, while Shereen Sutherland had six points, four rebounds and one block for the Anteaters (1-11), who have lost 10 straight.

Methlyn Onogomuho had six rebounds, three steals and three points for UCI, which closes out the tournament on Sunday against Denver.

Wright State is 8-2.

Westminster 58, Vanguard 55

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Maya Kennedy led the No. 3-ranked Lions with 12 points against the No. 4-ranked school from Utah in the Las Vegas Shootout on Saturday.

Vanguard, which has lost two straight and three of its last four, is 6-3.

Canyons 79, Orange Coast 65

Jasmine Matar had 19 points to lead the Pirates in the third-place game of the Erin Tomlinson Coast Christmas Classic on Saturday at OCC.

Matar added six rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Pirates (3-9), who received 13 points from Nicole Beaudoin and 10 points and seven rebounds from Bianca Gonzales.

Freshman Deanna Fink was OCC’s lone all-tournament performer.

Canyons is 8-4.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Montana Western 75, Vanguard 61

Senior Keith Mason had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lions, who lost their second straight at the Arizona tournament on Saturday.

Chris Gorman had 17 points, but was two for 14 from the field for Vanguard (8-6).

On Friday, the Lions fell to Rocky Mountain College, 92-84, as Gorman had 23 points.

DeAngelo Jones had 13 points and five rebounds, while Zach Allmon added 10 points and seven rebounds for Vanguard on Friday.
