High School Roundup: Newport Harbor boys’ basketball team wins easily in Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Chase Davis had 12 points, while Garrett Davis and Colin Pitkin chipped in 11 apiece for the Sailors in the opener of the Cactus Jam on Friday at Scottsdale Christian Academy.

The Tars (6-7) advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal against the host school.

GARDEN GROVE — Maya Van Den Heever had 13 points and Finley Garnett added 12 for the Eagles in the opening round of the Garden Grove Tournament on Friday at Garden Grove High.

Gianna Guyot chipped in seven points for Estancia (4-6), which begins play in the consolation bracket on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
