High School Football: Sage trio on first team for All-Academy League

Sage Hill School quarterback CJ McCord is one of three Lightning seniors named first-team All-Academy League in football.

Vince Wetmore, a wide receiver, and Aaron Kim, a two-way lineman, are the other first-team honorees for the Lightning (3-7, 0-4 in league).

McCord, a two-time first-team selection, completed 159 of 321 passes for 2,150 yards and 22 touchdowns, with nine interceptions. He rushed 37 times for 295 yards and four touchdowns.

Wetmore had 44 receptions for 669 yards and eight touchdowns.

Sage Hill senior running back Beau Roth and senior receiver Zach Burns are second-team selections.

The Academy League Offensive MVP award went to Brethren Christian’s Conner Miller and the Defensive MVP to Preston Ellis of St. Margaret’s.
