Cook service Jan. 4

A memorial service for passionate baseball volunteer Jeff Cook, who died in Arizona Dec. 15, will take place at Harbor Trinity Church in Costa Mesa Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.

Cook, who had a strong love for baseball, was known for his volunteer work. The former Costa Mesa High baseball assistant coach and player was an umpire for District 62 Little League. He spent a great deal of time learning to officiate and teaching others.

The Daily Courier in Prescott, Ariz. reported Cook, 58, died of a heart attack. There was a memorial service for him on Saturday in Arizona.

Now there will be a time for the Costa Mesa community to remember Cook and pay tribute for his impact made on the area.
