Saturday was a great day for Luke Gardner of the Corona del Mar High football team. He is holding up a sign that was presented to him by a girl, Ella Fairon, who thought of a clever way to ask Gardner to CdM Winter Formal. The girls ask the boys for winter formal. Fairon’s sign read: Since we just won state, will you be my formal date? She held up the sign after Gardner helped the Sea Kings (16-0) win the CIF State Division III Championship. Gardner ran up the stands to get the sign, and to say, yes.
