Newport Harbor 65, Costa Mesa 17

The Sailors’ McKenna Izzi scored 20 points in the nonleague game Friday at Newport Harbor High.

Hannah Doolin added 12 points for Newport Harbor (6-5), and Kendra Munguia had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Katherine Lawrence led Costa Mesa (4-6) with eight points.

Valencia 58, Corona del Mar 54

SANTA ANA — Junior Natalia Bruening had a career-high 39 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for CdM in the Segerstrom Tournament fifth-place semifinal game Friday.

CdM Coach Mark Decker said the 39 points may be a school record. It’s the most anyone has scored in his nine-year tenure.

Senior guard Brianna Westrup had five points, seven rebounds and five steals for CdM (5-3), which concludes tournament play Saturday at 2 p.m.

Trabuco Hills 50, Estancia 34

Finley Garnett finished with 16 points and seven rebounds in the Eagles’ nonleague game at home on Thursday.

Maya Van Den Heever had eight points and two three-pointers for Estancia (4-5).

The Eagles return to action on Dec. 26, when they open Garden Grove tournament play against Whitney at Garden Grove High at 6 p.m.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Sage Hill 63, Mary Star of the Sea 55 (OT)

Krishan Tarsadia scored 22 points for the Lightning in Friday night’s nonleague game at Sage Hill School.

Tyler Hague added 20 for Sage Hill (5-2), and C.J. McCord added 13. Hague and McCord each scored four in overtime, in which Sage outscored the visitors 8-0.

Sage Hill travels to Las Vegas for the Vegas Invitational tournament beginning Dec. 27.
