EUGENE, Ore. — Junior Will Davis had 20 points and six rebounds for the visiting Anteaters in the nonconference game on Tuesday at Matthew Knight Arena.

Freshman guard Luke Nelson had 13 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, while senior Chris McNealy added 14 points and five assists for UCI (6-6).

Oregon (10-0) made 12 of 19 three-point attempts (62.2%) and forced 19 UCI turnovers, while committing just 11.

UCI made just 13 of 26 foul shots.

UCI visits the University of Denver on Saturday at 1 p.m.

UC Irvine 70, Eastern Washington 61

CHENEY, Wash. — Freshman guard Luke Nelson had 11 of his team-best 13 points after halftime to help the visiting Anteaters overcome a 31-29 intermission deficit in the nonconference game on Sunday.

Nelson, who played 21 minutes off the bench, was five for five from the field, including two for two from three-point range.

Mamadou Ndiaye, a 7-foot-6 freshman center, had 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots to help UCI improve to 6-5.

Will Davis had 12 points on four-of-seven shooting as UCI shot 59.3% in the final 20 minutes (16 for 27). The ‘Eaters shot 49.1% for the game.

UCI posted a 45-34 rebounding advantage, but lost the turnover battle, 18-8.
