IRVINE — Samantha Velasco scored off an assist from Tabitha Smith with six minutes left in the nonleague game for the Eagles on Thursday.

Goalie Caitlin Leahy made three saves for Estancia, which plays host to Newport Harbor at 5 p.m.

Sage Hill 2, Valley Christian 1

CERRITOS — Lexi Magliarditi scored both of the Lightning goals in a nonleague match on the road.

Claire Novotny and Maya Roston each had assists, while goalkeeper Kayla Gratzer made three saves.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Sage Hill 83, University 80

Tyler Hague scored 22 points for the Lightning in a consolation game of the CdM Beach Bash Thursday.

Krishan Tarsadia added 19 points, CJ McCord scored 17 points and Aryan Assar had 15 points.

Sage Hill plays Saturday at 10:25 a.m. in a consolation game at CdM.

Foothill 57, Newport Harbor 18

Sophomore Michael Craft won twice by pin for the Sailors in the nonleague tri-meet Thursday at Newport Harbor.

Senior Ryan Birt (170 pounds) won twice by pine and forfeit. Senior Brett Beaudette (182) won by pin twice.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

LAS FLORES — Senior forward Maria King finished with 10 points in the Sea Kings’ nonleague road game on Thursday.

Natalia Bruening had nine points for CdM (4-1).

The Sea Kings open Segerstrom tournament play against Laguna Hills on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
