UC Irvine senior forward Cameron Iwasa is one of 16 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded annually to the top player in collegiate men’s soccer.

Iwasa, who helped the Anteaters reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and tie a school record with 16 victories, is the first UCI player to be named a semifinalist for the prestigious award.

He had the assist on the only goal in a second-round triumph at No. 6-seeded Stanford.

Iwasa ranks in UCI’s career top 10 in goals (22), game-winning goals (eight), and points (58).

He earned All-Big West honors as a junior and a senior.
