Several sign for college

Newport Harbor High baseball players Shaun Vetrovec and Connor Seabold signed their letter of intent with UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton, respectively, on Wednesday, highlighting two seniors who took part on the first day of national signing day.

Vetrovec and Seabold, members of the Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team as pitchers, joined other area athletes who signed in sports such as baseball, women’s water polo, crew, tennis, volleyball, golf and swimming.

Other locals who signed are CdM’s Marina Coskinas (USC women’s water polo), CdM’s Sara Clark (University of Washington women’s crew), CdM’s Meagan Smith (University of Washington women’s crew), CdM’s Joshua Kliger (Bryant University men’s tennis), Newport Harbor’s Andrew Yasko (University of the Pacific men’s swimming), Newport Harbor’s Heidi Fults (Hawaii women’s water polo) and Newport Harbor’s Sydney Kohlenberger (Long Beach State women’s water polo).

Three locals from Mater Dei signed as well, starting with CdM resident Brianna Daboub (USC women’s water polo), Costa Mesa resident Jamie Harada (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo women’s golf ) and CdM resident Jaden Pickell (Army women’s volleyball).

Newport Harbor’s Cleo Harrington is going to Harvard to play women’s water polo.
