GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Academy League finals

ORANGE — Sage Hill School sophomore Julia Lowe won the individual league title, finishing in 19 minutes, five seconds, 22 seconds faster than second-place Mandy Reyes of Crean Lutheran Tuesday at Irvine Regional Park.

Lowe became Sage Hill’s first individual league champion since 2000, when Cait Williamson won a league crown.

Lowe led the Lightning to a second-place finish behind champion Crean Lutheran. Sage Hill qualifie dfor the CIF Southern Section Division 5 preliminaries Nov. 15 at Mt. San Antonio College.

Senior Britanny Andressoo finished ninth in 20:58, junior Kurisa Suhr was 12th in 21:25, freshman Yena Chung came in 20th in 21:58 and sophomore Julia Dupuis was 23rd in 22:02.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Corona del Mar def. Northwood

The Sea Kings completed an undefeated run in the Pacific Coast League with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-21 sweep against visiting Northwood on Tuesday.

Katie Craig led CdM (22-5, 10-0 in league) with 11 kills, while Jessie Harris added 10 kills and Natalia Bruening seven kills.

CdM was ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 1AA. The CIF Southern Section playoff seedings will be released Friday by 2 p.m.

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Academy League finals

ORANGE — Junior Calvin Shimano and senior Patrick Hynes finished seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead the Lightning to a third-place finish Tuesday at Irvine Regional Park.

The Lightning qualified for the CIF Southern Section Division 5 preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College Nov. 15.

Senior Collin Price of St. Margaret’s won the individual title in 15:03 and led the Tartans to the league crown.

Shimano finished in 16:39 and Hynes in 16:37.

Lightning seniors Brian Slaughter (17:06) and Alexis Michaca (17:19) came in 15th and 16th, respectively. Junior Jacob Diaz finished 17th in 17:38 for Sage Hill.
