XIAMEN, China — Costa Mesa resident April Ross and her partner, Kerri Walsh Jennings, won the Federation International de Volleyball Xiamen Grand Slam beach volleyball tournament on Sunday in China.

Ross and Walsh Jennings, who breaks a tie with Newport Harbor High product Misty May-Treanor for all-time professional beach victories with 113, defeated Taiana Lima and Talita Da Rocha Antunes of Brazil, 21-14, 17-21, 15-12, in the final to win their second straight FIVB event.

It’s the third title in five events for Ross and Walsh Jennings, who teamed up late in the 2013 season and have said they aim to chase a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
