CORONA — Corona del Mar High sophomore Amy Matsuoka shot three-under-par 67 to capture the Pacific Coast League individual girls’ golf championship at Dos Lagos Golf Course Wednesday. She is believed to be the first individual champion in school history, longtime Coach Mike Starkweather said.

Matsuoka’s two-day total was three-under 137 after shooting even on Tuesday and was tied with teammate Alyaa Abdulghany. They were two shots behind the leader.

Abdulghany shot 70-73-143 and finished fourth.

The CdM duo advanced to Monday’s CIF Southern Section Southern Individual Regional at Mile Square Golf Course in Fountain Valley.
