Breakdown: The Sea Kings have won 12 straight league games and will be heavy favorites to extend that streak to 13 against University ... Corona del Mar, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Southwest Division, topped Woodbridge 41-3 last week as senior Barrett Barbato made his debut at running back and had 114 yards rushing and two TDs ... Coach Scott Meyer said that Bush, who missed last week’s game with a sprained ankle, is a game-time decision for Friday’s game ... Sophomore Chase Garbers made the start at quarterback last week ... CdM was tied for the top spot in the Southwest Division last week, but took the top spot this week as San Clemente fell to No. 2 following a bye week ... University has lost four straight since a 3-0 start, including last week’s 40-10 setback against Beckman ... Former Costa Mesa head coach Jeremy Osso, who remains a Costa Mesa resident, is the Trojans’ defensive coordinator ... Friday’s game is senior night for CdM, as the Sea Kings’ final two league games against Beckman and Northwood are at Tustin High and Irvine High, respectively ... Players, cheerleaders, referees and ASB students will be wearing purple socks and sweat bands in support of a Stand Against Domestic Violence campaign. Purple is the national color for domestic violence awareness.
