SANTA ANA – Matt Brown scored four goals to lead the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game at Santa Ana Valley High Wednesday.

Quinn Smith added two goals and goalie Ivan Shikhelman finished with seven saves and six assists for Costa Mesa (10-5, 2-0 in league).

Corona del Mar 14, Beckman 6

IRVINE — Jon Polos and Ben Brooks each scored three goals for the Sea Kings in Wednesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Beckman High.

Jack Trush added two goals for the Sea Kings (13-3, 4-0 in league). Nigel Bress made four saves, and Tristan Ospina had six.

CdM, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays at Northwood on Thursday.

Los Alamitos 8, Newport Harbor 6

Junioer center Gavin Kunkle scored four goals for the Sailors in Wednesday’s Sunset League match at Newport Harbor High.

Newport Harbor played without five starters who were suspended for the match, sources said. Seven total Sailors were suspended.

Riley Campbell and Hannes Daube also scored for the Sailors (6-15, 0-2 in league).

Laguna Beach 22, Estancia 2

Jason Chesemore and Eli Sperling scored one goal each for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Wednesday.

Goalie John Leal made nine saves for Estancia (5-11, 1-2 in league).

GIRLS’ GOLF

University 214, Corona del Mar 231

Alyaa Abdulghany earned medalist honors for the Sea Kings after shooting two-over-par 37 in the Pacific Coast League at Newport Beach Country Club Wednesday.

Gabby Finear (42), Laura Nakamura (46), Sarah Reynoso (51) and Anastasia Predgree (55) also scored for CdM (5-6, 3-6 in league).

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Calvary Chapel def. Costa Mesa

Cat Kirkorian recorded 12 kills at home for the Mustangs, but the Eagles won the Orange Coast League match, 25-19, 25-17, 26-28, 17-25, 15-11, Tuesday.

Stephanie Willett had 11 kills and Kintka Keju amassed 29 assists for Costa Mesa (6-3, 3-2 in league).
