SANTA CLARITA — Jessica Neves had 11 kills and Marissa Laster added 10 for the Lions, but The Master’s won the Golden State Athletic Conference match, 25-18, 21-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-11, on Tuesday.

Kelly Heenan and Kiana Nicio recorded 17 digs each for No. 18-ranked Vanguard (17-7, 6-3 in conference).

The Master’s is 13-8, 4-4.

Hawaii def. UC Irvine

HONOLULU — Allison Lee had 13 kills and Marisa Bubica had 12 to pace the visiting Anteaters in the 25-17, 25-19, 26-24 Big West Conference sweep on Saturday night.

Shelley Anderson had 31 assists and Molly Yoder had 13 digs for UCI (10-7, 0-3 in conference).

No. 24-ranked Hawaii is 12-3, 4-0.

Cowboy Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. —- UC Irvine climbed two spots to finish tied for fourth in the two-day event that concluded Sunday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

Senior Pete Fernandez was third with a three-round score of four-under-par 212 to help UCI post a 54-hole team total of 888, equaling Wyoming, 34 shots behind victorious Idaho.

Sophomore Bryan Shin (19th at 222), junior Jacob Schulze and freshman David Kim (both tied for 30th at 228) and freshman Jonathan Young (35th at 230) also contributed for UCI.

Senior Bhuvan Potluri, competing as an individual, also finished 35th at 230.

The ‘Eaters return to action Oct. 20-21 in the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
