Corona del Mar High senior Peter Bush, a receiver who converted from a quarterback, received a preferred walk-on offer from the University of Michigan on Tuesday morning. It marks the second such offer from a major NCAA Division I program, as Notre Dame also extended an offer in June.

Bush says the offer is as a receiver/athlete for the Wolverines. He received the offer from the Fighting Irish to play quarterback.

Bush is preparing for the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League opener against Woodbridge at University High Friday at 7 p.m. He’ll be weighing his options.

“Tough call because I love Michigan, but my brother is at ND and it would be fun to play with him,” Bush said in an email.

Bush’s older brother, Sam, who stood out as an offensive lineman for Mater Dei, plays for the Fighting Irish as a redshirt freshman offensive lineman.

Peter Bush leads CdM with 30 receptions for 383 yards and four touchdowns.

As a junior quarterback for the Sea Kings, Bush completed 74 of 121 passes for 993 yards and six touchdowns, with three interceptions, and rushed 71 times for 242 yards and seven TDs before moving to tight end.
