For the first time in overtime, Sage Hill’s offense went first and junior tailback Beau Roth gashed the defense for gains of seven and 14 yards to create first-and-goal at the Silver Valley five-yard line.

After a one-yard loss and a two-yard gain on a quarterback keeper, Cook slammed inside the one-yard line, as officials spotted the ball just inches from the goal line.

The Lightning drove 80 yards on 14 plays, capping the march with a seven-yard Roth run to take a 13-10 lead at halftime. But an errant snap on the conversion attempt resulted in a failed run, which ultimately cost the Lightning until it ended the game in overtime.
