The host Eagles rolled in the Orange Coast League match, in which the No. 3 doubles team of junior Mai Le and freshman Lauren Weisser swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, on Thursday.

Senior Taylor Tuxford subbed in to win her singles set to also help the Eagles improve to 6-5, 3-1 in league.

Estancia plays host to Calvary Chapel on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Newport Harbor 13, Huntington Beach 5

Senior Kate Knight swept at No. 1 singles, only dropping one game during the Sailors’ Sunset League match in Huntington Beach on Thursday.

Jenn Kingsley swept at No. 3 singles for Newport Harbor (8-7, 2-1 in league).

Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza, playing No. 1 doubles, swept.

The Sailors play host to Edison on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Corona del Mar def. Irvine

The host Sea Kings amassed 17 aces on their way to a 25-16, 25-15, 25-9, sweep in the Pacific Coast League opener on Thursday.

Junior Paige Migliori had six aces and senior Hannah Bagdasar added five for CdM (8-2, 1-0 in league).

Junior Katie Craig had nine kills and sophomore Jessie Harris added seven for the Sea Kings, who visit Woodbridge on Tuesday.

Huntington Beach def. Newport Harbor

Carolyn Bockrath had 26 kills, three aces and two blocks for the Sailors in the 24-26, 25-27, 25-17, 25-21, 15-12 Sunset League setback to the host Oilers on Thursday.

Ellie Hagadorn amassed 65 assists, Sammie Yeager had 29 digs and Gabby Shelley had 21 kills for the Tars, for whom Leah Castillo added 16 digs and 13 kills.

Newport Harbor (3-14, 0-1 in league), plays host to Edison on Tuesday.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Corona del Mar 16, Irvine 6

Alex Barber and Matt Sherburne scored four goals for the host Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Thursday.

Charlie Rodosky, Jack Trush and Ashton Jajonie scored two goals each, while Nigel Bress made six blocks and Ryan Hamm had three blocks for CdM.

The Sea Kings play at Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay Saturday at 7 p.m. CdM is ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 1. Newport Harbor is ranked No. 3.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Huntington Beach 230, Newport Harbor 231

Sophomore Grace Ferrell shot two-over-par 37 for the Sailors to earn medalist honors in the Sunset League match on Thursday at Costa Mesa Country Club.

It was the eighth straight match in which Ferrell has been the medalist.

Thya Corona (44) and Sabrina Weiler (49) also broke 50 for the Tars (5-7, 1-5 in league).

Newport Harbor meets Edison on Tuesday at SeaCliff Country Club.
