GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Sunny Hills Invitational

FULLERTON — Corona del Mar High won the meet, finishing first among the 27 teams Saturday at Craig Park.

Raquel Powers was second overall individually in the juniors race in 18 minutes, 43 seconds. Senior Hannah Crane (19:14), senior Katie Correnty (19:48), freshman Gigi Lee (20:04) and senior Lily Schmidt (20:18) also scored for CdM.

Brentwood Invitational

BRENTWOOD — Sage Hill School won the meet for the second straight year on Saturday at Brentwood High.

Freshman Emma Dickerson finished second individually for the Lightning in 19 minutes, 30 seconds, and junior Julia Lowe was third in 19:46. Freshman Maya Jaffe (21:13) was 10th, sophomore Ashton Carroll was 23rd in 22:49 and freshman Alice Warden was 28th in 23:23.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 13, Beckman 5

Siena Sharf swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League match at CdM.

The doubles teams of Camellia Edalat and Erica Chen, Paige Kenerson and Emily Freyman, as well as Shaya Northrup and Bella McKinney, each won twice for CdM (5-1, 2-0 in league).

CdM, ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays host to Los Alamitos on Wednesday.

Estancia 14, Godinez 4

Senior Kinley Ohland swept at No. 1 singles for Estancia in Tuesday’s Orange Coast League match at home.

Sarah Mack and Karina Catalano swept at No. 3 doubles for Estancia (2-0 in league), which plays at Laguna Beach on Thursday

Newport Harbor 17, Huntington Beach 1

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Sailors’ No. 1 doubles team of Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza swept and improved to 29-3 in the Sunset League match Tuesday.

Taryn Anderson and Eva Neswom swept at No. 3 doubles, Jenn Kingsley swept at No. 1 singles and Lily Walkow swept at No. 2 singles for Newport Harbor (8-1, 2-0 in league).

The Sailors play host to Los Alamitos Thursday.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Estancia 17, Rancho Alamitos 4

Jason Chesemore scored five goals for the Eagles in Tuesday’s nonleague game at Estancia High.

Kyle Fitzgerald scored four for Estancia (4-8), and Victor Castillo added two goals. Eizik Leyva made eight saves.

Estancia plays host to Sage Hill on Wednesday.

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Sunny Hills Invitational

FULLERTON — CdM finished fifth as a team on Saturday at Craig Park.

Thomas Robertson finished ninth among all runners, and fifth in the senior race, in 15 minutes, 55 seconds for the Sea Kings. Matt Paragas (16:23), Leif Hellgren (16:27), Chris Lin (17:19), Daniel Le (17:37), Alex Araujo (17:38) and Rhamseys Garcia (17:47) also competed for the Sea Kings.

Brentwood Invitiational

BRENTWOOD — Freshman Kylen Patel was 12th in 17 minutes, 29 seconds for Sage Hill on Saturday, helping the Lightning finish third as a team.

Senior Calvin Shimano was 14th in 17:39, and freshman Luke Nataupsky was 18th in 17:50. Senior Jacob Diaz (20th, 17:55) and senior Cam Knollenberg (24th, 18:12) also scored for Sage Hill.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Sage Hill def. Downey Calvary Chapel

DOWNEY — Freshman outside hitter Amiyah De’long finished with 11 kills in a 25-8, 25-18, 25-13 sweep by the visiting Lightning on Tuesday.

Jade Blevins had nine services and five kills for Sage Hill (6-8, 2-1 in league), ranked No. 3 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA poll.

Giordana Ricci recorded nine kills and five digs.

Laguna Beach def. Newport Harbor

Remy Wilson had 19 kills and two blocks to lead the Sailors, but the visiting Breakers won the nonleague match, 25-20, 17-25, 28-26, 25-20 on Tuesday.

Amanda Walker added 11 kills and Jaclyn Brown had seven kills and nine digs for Newport Harbor (6-11), which opens Sunset League play at home on Thursday.

Tustin def. Estancia

TUSTIN — The Eagles dropped a nonleague match that Tustin swept, 25-14, 25-18, 25-13, on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ FIELD HOCKEY

Newport Harbor 0, Edison 0

The Sailors are now 10-1-1 and 2-0-1 in Sunset League action after Tuesday’s home game.
