Key Rebels: Sr. RB Logan Thomas (297 rushing yards); Sr. QB Leroy Hibbert (230 yards, four TDs rushing, 171 yards, two TDs passing); Sr. TE Tanner Gill.

Breakdown: The Mustangs have lost five straight, but the Rebels have dropped 10 of their last 11, including a 21-19 setback against Mesa last season ... Mataafa missed last week’s 36-16 loss to Los Amigos due to a concussion and he is one of a handful of injured Mustangs whose availability will be determined Friday, said Coach Wally Grant ... Curet rushed for 84 yards and one TD last week and has 161 rushing yards on the season ... Mesa also received 118 rushing yards from junior Michael Dias and 101 more from junior Josh Snipes against Los Amigos ... Mesa has been outscored this season, 120-41, while Savanna has been outscored, 115-75 ... Mesa has just four pass completions this season and none in the last two games ... Savanna quarterback Leroy Hibbert has nine completions on 25 passing attempts ... The Mustangs, defending Orange Coast League champions, have not started a season 0-5 since 2008, when they won their next five to claim the OCL crown ... Mesa will have a bye next week, before opening the league season on Oct. 10 against Laguna Beach.
