Senior Jessica Neves produced 14 kills, four digs, two block assists and one service ace in the Lions’ 25-18, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, in a Golden State Athletic Conference match at home on Tuesday.

Charlotte Heerlyn had 13 kills for No. 21-ranked Vanguard (15-5, 4-1 in conference). Lauren Hays finished with 29 assists and eight digs.

Vanguard plays at No. 3 Concordia on Saturday at 7 p.m.

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Junior Marisa Bubica had a match-high 16 kills to lead UC Irvine to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-19 win over host Oakland University to cap a 4-0 tournament and claim the title on Saturday.

Earlier Saturday, the Anteaters (10-4) swept Bowling Green, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22, behind 13 kills from Bubica and 11 each from Allison Lee and Cassidy Pickrell.

Lee, who had 11 kills and led all players with 16 digs against Oakland, was named to the all-tournament team.

Pickrell had 14 kills against Oakland, which fell to 8-6.

Shelley Anderson had 32 assists against Oakland and 40 against Bowling Green.

MEN’S SOCCER

UC Irvine 1, San Diego 0

Senior Gor Kirakosyan scored in the second minute of overtime to keep the No. 4-ranked Anteaters unbeaten on Sunday at UCI.

Senior Cameron Iwasa and sophomore Thomas Janjigian both earned an assist on the goal as the Anteaters finished with a 12-3 advantage in shots.

Junior goalie Michael Breslin had two saves to post his second shutout of the season for UCI, for which the No. 4 ranking announced Tuesday is the best in program history.

San Diego us 2-2-4.

UCI plays two matches at the UNLV tournament, meeting the host Rebels on Friday at 7 p.m. and battling Utah Valley on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Hope International 3, Vanguard 2

Luis Valdivia and Brian Torres each scored a goal for the Lions in a Golden State Athletic Conference match on Tuesday.

Vanguard dropped to 4-4, 0-1 in conference.

Rocky Mountain 3, Vanguard 1

Juan Arellano scored the host Lions’ lone goal in the nonconference match on Saturday.

Brian Torres had the assist for Vanguard (4-3), which had 12 of the game’s 19 shots.

Rocky Mountain is 3-6.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

UC Irvine 1, Boise State 1

Senior Jenna Pellegrino posted an unassisted goal in the 64th minute, but the Broncos tied it in the 75th minute and two overtimes were scoreless on Sunday at UCI.

UCI (4-4-2 and unbeaten in its last six contests) posted a 15-9 advantage in shots.

Jenn Rendazzo had three saves for the Anteaters.

UCI plays host to Loyola Marymount on Friday at 7 p.m. at Anteater Recreation Center Field.

Vanguard 3, Rocky Mountain 0

Madison Cody had one goal and two assists to lead the No. 12-ranked Lions in the nonconference home game on Saturday.

Veronica Aguilar and Jennifer Martin added goals for the Lions (7-0-1), for whom Lauren Terry had one save to record the shutout.

Vanguard had a 17-4 advantage in shots.

Rocky Mountain fell to 5-3.

MEN’S WATER POLO

NorCal Classic

STOCKTON — UC Irvine had goals from 10 players in a 19-8 win over UC Davis in the ninth-place game on Sunday.

The No. 10-ranked Anteaters improved to 10-2, 3-1 in the tournament, which included a 12-11 overtime win over Pepperdine on Sunday.

Lovre Milos had four goals and Jacob Mourer added three against UC Davis, while Lovre had five goals and Mourer two against Pepperdine.

On Saturday, UCI defeated Redlands, 17-5, and fell to UC San Diego, 10-9.

UCI opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play at UCLA on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Mustang Challenge

SANTA CLARITA — UC Irvine senior Alex Tebbe finished 13th and UCI finished 10th as a team on Saturday at Central Park.

Tebbe finished the 8,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 26.2 seconds.

UCI’s Matt Neev was 25th in 26:37.8.

The event was hosted by The Master’s College.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Mustang Challenge

SANTA CLARITA — Alice Yang finished 23rd to lead UC Irvine to a ninth-place finish on Saturday at Central Park.

Yang completed the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes, 6.8 seconds.
