Freshman Madison Lopp scored four goals and three other Lions had hat tricks in the nonconference game Saturday at Vanguard University.

Junior Madison Cody, senior Veronica Aquilar and senior Jennifer Martin all had three goals apiece to help the No. 12-ranked Lions improve to 5-0-1.

Liliana Ruiz and Janell Koide both scored twice, while Rayven Hernandez had three assists and Cody added two.

Lauren Terry made one save to record the shutout as Vanguard posted a 42-1 advantage in shots.

It was 12-0 at halftime.

MEN’S WATER POLO

UC Irvine 20, Harvard 8

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The No. 8-ranked Anteaters improved to 6-0 with the win in the Bruno Fall Classic Saturday.

Lovre Milos notched six goals and Jacob Mourer five for UCI.

Kyle Trush, Matt Skinner and Jared Osborn added two goals apiece. Dylan Peterson (14 saves) and Byron Rivers (13 saves) split halves in goal.

Ben Zepfel, a Corona del Mar High product, scored three goals for the Crimson.

Earlier Saturday, UCI overpowered host Brown, 18-6.

Milos led the ‘Eaters with six goals and Mourer added four.

UCI wraps up play in the Bruno Fall Classic Sunday facing St. Francis Brooklyn and Princeton at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

MCM Elegante Lobo Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — UC Irvine hit a season-high .390, sweeping Montana State 25-16, 25-12, 25-16 Saturday morning.

Allison Lee and Marisa Bubica paced the Anteater attack with 13 and 11 kills, respectively with Lee hitting .444 with just one error.

Shelley Anderson dished out 34 assists and totaled six kills while Arden Davis boasted a match-leading 17 digs with Molly Yoder scooping up 10.

New Mexico beat UCI, 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, Saturday night.

Bubica made the all-tournament team. She led UCI with 15 kills.

Lee and Cassidy Pickrell chipped in 12 kills apiece. Davis, also an all-tournament choice, led the team with a match-high 19 digs/

Anderson totaled a double-double of 31 assists and 11 digs.

Vanguard def. The Master’s

Jessica Chase had 16 kills to lead the Lions to a 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 15-12 Golden State Athletic Conference win Saturday.

Stephanie Flores and Jessica Neves added 13 kills each. Kelly Heenan led Vanguard (12-4, 1-1 in conference) with 20 digs. Lauren Hays led the Linos with 33 assists.

The Master’s is 8-6, 0-2.

The Lions outshot Bethesda, 17-10, but lost the nonconference game Saturday at home.

Brandon Gomez had two saves for Vanguard (4-2).

Bethesda scored in the 23rd minute.
