But the host Muskateers scored in the 79th minute and added on in the 89th minute of the nonconference game on Tuesday.

Michael Breslin made one save for UCI (2-1-1).

Xavier is 1-3.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

UC Irvine 2, Oregon 1

EUGENE, Ore. — Senior Zoya Farzaneh had a goal and an assist to pace the visiting Anteaters in the nonconference game Sunday.

Farzaneh sent a cross that Jenna Pellegrino converted in the third minute. Farzaneh then scored in the 75th minute to give her team a 2-0 lead.

Oregon (2-4), which scored in the 88th minute, had a 19-16 edge on shots.

Jennifer Randazzo made eight saves for UCI (3-3).

UCI visits BYU on Saturday.

MEN’S WATER POLO

Brown tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — UC Irvine won twice on Sunday to go 4-0 in the two-day Bruno Fall Classic.

The Anteaters (4-0) topped Harvard, 18-9, and also doubled the score on Brown, 14-7, on Sunday.

Mitch Wise had five goals to pace the No. 9-ranked ‘Eaters against Harvard, while Bojan Hrlec led the way with four goals against Brown.

Alex Kazmier had 13 saves against Harvard and Michael Bailey stopped 11 shots against Brown.

Tyler Mancuso had three goals in each game for the winners.
