Sage Hill silver bracket champ at Ann Kang

Junior outside hitter Kekai Whitford earned all-tournament team honors and helped the Sage Hill School girls’ volleyball team finish as silver bracket champion at the prestigious Ann Kang Invitational Saturday in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Lightning, who went 6-3 and finished seventh overall out of 16 teams, won the silver bracket after beating Honolulu Mid Pacific Institute, 25-20, 27-25.

Mid Pacific had beaten Sage earlier in the tournament.

Whitford (4.8 kills per game) and junior Halland McKenna (5.1 kpg), as well as junior setter Maddy Abbott (13.5 assists per game) led the Lightning.

Senior liberos Claudia Noto (4.4 digs per game) and Allie Mowrey (3.1 digs per game), and senior middle blocker Juliette Singarella (1.8 kpg) also contributed for Sage.
