Former Orange Coast College baseball pitcher Brandon Brennan has been promoted from Class A to advanced Class A by the Chicago White Sox organization.

Brennan, who resumed pitching in mid-July, after recovering from Tommy John surgery, with the Kannapolis Intimidators, is now with the Winston-Salem Dash in North Carolina.

The 23-year-old right-hander was 2-0 with a 2.55 earned-run average in three starts with Kannapolis.

He opened the 2013 season with Kannapolis and went 4-9 with a 5.53 ERA in 15 starts before injuring his right elbow. A fourth-round pick by the White Sox in the June 2012 Draft, Brennan showed improvements during the 2013 campaign, going 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA in his final five starts before being shut down in July.

He returned to the mound this year with Great Falls of the advanced rookie league on June 20 and went 1-1 with a 3.20 ERA in five starts for the Voyagers.

Brennan returned to Kannapolis on July 15 and made three starts, all on the road, including six innings of one-hit ball in his return to the South Atlantic League on July 16 in Augusta, Ga.
