In the other Women's quarterfinal heats Saturday, Wright defeated rookie Bianca Buitendag (South Africa), Moore turned back fellow Hawaiian Coco Ho, and Ado got past Sally Fitzgibbons (Australia).

"I'm excited for Sunday," Conlogue said as she signed autographs. "It's going to be great."

Prior to the Women's quarterfinals, the Men's Prime Round of 16 wrapped with winners advancing to Sunday's quarterfinals which start at 8 a.m.

Sunday's first quarterfinal heat pits Adriano De Souza (Brazil) against Kolohe Andino (USA). The second heat is between Bede Durbidge (South Africa)-Michel Bourez (Tahiti), the third is Jordy Smith (South Africa)-Matt Banting (Australia), and the fourth is Nat Young (USA)-Alejo Muniz (Brazil).

The Men's Prime semifinals also are Sunday morning and the final follows the Women's final in the afternoon. The Men's Prime winner receives $100,000.

Also Saturday, titles were won in the Pro Junior Women's and Pro Junior Men's divisions.

Bianca Buitendag, 19, brushed off her Women's quarterfinal loss against Wright earlier in the day and came back in the afternoon to claim the Women's Jr. Pro title and $1,800. Conner Coffin, 20, of Santa Barbara, won the Men's Jr. Pro crown and top prize of $4,500.

Coffin captured the U.S. Open Men's Jr. Pro title for the second straight year.

The nine-day U.S. Open of Surfing comes to a close Sunday. In addition to the surfing finals, the Van Doren Invitational Skate semifinals and final will be held.
