Coach Brinkley to be honored, celebrated

Jeff Brinkley, Newport Harbor High’s football coach, will be honored during a special event celebrating his 30 years of dedication and service to Newport Football.

It’s called, “Coach Brinkley’s Tar Ball,” on Aug. 15, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Evan Paul Motorcars in Costa Mesa.

The night includes food, drinks, a live band and dancing.

The $45 admission fee includes dinner and one drink.

Tickets can be ordered at www.newportharborfootball.org, with an RSVP by Aug. 5.

Brinkley has compiled a 233-111-3 record in 29 seasons for the Sailors, that includes eight CIF Southern Section finals appearances, three resulting in titles.
