Briefs: OC All-Star Football Game to air

If you missed Friday night’s 54th Brea Lions Club Orange County North-South Prep All-Star Football Game at Orange Coast College, you can watch the contest on Time Warner Sports Channel 101 this upcoming week.

Time Warner plans to air the game on Monday at 8 p.m., Wednesday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The game will also air on Cox Cable Channel 3. Check your local listings for the show times on Cox.

Six Newport-Mesa players, Corona del Mar quarterback Cayman Carter, defensive end Tim Reinhardt and kicker Griff Amies, Newport Harbor tailback Talalelei Teaupa and offensive tackle Zach Cornwell, and Estancia tailback Robert Murtha, played for the South.

CdM’s Scott Meyer and his assistants from CdM coached the South.

Jock eighth in 800

Charles Jock, an NCAA champion in the men’s 800 meters while at UC Irvine in 2012, finished eighth in the 800 on June 23 at the USA Outdoor National Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jock’s time of 1 minute, 46.42 seconds was more than three seconds off the pace of winner Duane Solomon Jr. (1:43.27).

Jock, a three-time All-American at UCI also finished eighth at the 2012 Olympic Trials.

‘Eaters on TV

UC Irvine’s men’s water polo match at UC Berkeley on Nov. 17 will be one of nine matches televised by the Pac-12 Network in 2013.

The network announced it will cover nine Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contests, all of which involved schools who compete in the Pac-12 in other sports.

Other teams in the package are UCLA, Stanford, USC, Pepperdine, Pacific, Santa Clara, UC Santa Barbara.
