Beach Volleyball: Ross linked to Walsh Jennings

Multiple media outlets have reported that April Ross, a Newport Harbor High product who won a silver medal in beach volleyball at the 2012 Olympics in London, will partner with three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh-Jennings for most of the 2013 season.

Ross has been playing with Jennifer Kessy, with whom she lost to Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor, since retired, in the Olympic final.

Ross and Kessy finished second in a Federation Internationale de Volleyball beach event in Rome on Sunday.

Former UC Irvine standout Whitney Pavlik confirmed on Thursday that she will play with Walsh Jennings in the World Series of Volleyball, an FIVB event scheduled July 22-28 in Long Beach.

Ross was not available for comment Thursday.
