FINA World League Prelims this weekend

Corona del Mar High alumni John Mann and Tumua Anae are on the No. 1 senior national teams for the FINA World League Prelims that start Friday at Los Alamitos Air Force Base swimming pool.

The four-day event will feature a mix of official matches and exhibition contests.

The rosters for the USA Men’s and Women’s Senior National Teams were released Tuesday. Tickets are on sale for the games and can be purchased at https://www.waterpolo.org.

Anae, a golaie, is on the Women’s National Team 1, which also includes UC Irvine junior Danielle Warde and Jillian Kraus, a UCI volunteer assistant coach. UCI Coach Dan Klatt and Chris Oeding, a former CdM standout and a Newport Beach resident, are assistants on the coaching staff.

Kate Baldoni, also a former CdM goalie, is on the Women’s Senior National Team 2, along with former Newport Harbor High standout Kaleigh Gilchrist, who recently helped lead the USC Trojans to the NCAA national championship. Jessy Cardey, a UCI senior, is also on the team.

Mann is on the Men’s Senior National Team 1.

Greg Enloe, Brandon Johnson, Matt Johnson and Griffin Lerman out of UCI are also members of the USA Senior National Team 1.

Enloe scored 95 goals in four seasons (2006-09) with the ‘Eaters, Brandon Johnson scored 196 goals from 2007-10 and was a three-time All-American, and Lerman scored 86 goals from 2007-10 and earned All-America distinction in 2010.

Matt Johnson recorded 571 saves in goal from 2007-10 and also received All-America recognition in 2010.

Reid Chase, a CdM senior bound for Stanford, is on the Men’s Junior National Team also known as the Men’s Senior National Team 2. Chase was the Daily Pilot Dream Team Player of the Year.
