Corona del Mar 105, Beckman 65

Senior Liam Karas won two events for the Sea Kings in Wednesday’s Pacific Coast League meet at home.

Karas won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:45.15, and the 200 IM in 1:54.47.

CdM improved to 3-0 in league.

Calvary Chapel 86, Costa Mesa 84

Tyler Connors won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke for Mesa in Wednesday’s Orange Coast League meet.

Connors won the IM in 2:02.50, and the back in 55.56 seconds. Andrew Palacious, Jacob Petersen, Raymond Andrade and Connors combined to win the 400 free relay in 3:37.54.

Connors and Andrade swim Friday at the Mt. San Antonio College Meet of Champions.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Corona del Mar 102, Beckman 68

Junior Meagan Popp won twice for CdM in Wednesday’s Pacific Coast League meet at home.

Popp captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.49, as well as the 200 free in 1:53.62.

CdM (3-0 in league) swam without standouts Stephanie Samudro, Nicole Lin and Sami Pratt.

Calvary Chapel 77, Costa Mesa 70

Lauren Smith won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 free in Wednesday’s Orange Coast League meet.

Smith won the 200 free in 2:07.71, and the 100 free in 57.67 seconds. Bridgette Smitheram won the 100 back (1:12.15), while Devon Christensen, Yesennia Villa, Smitheram and Smith teamed to win the 400 free relay in 4:13.41.

Smith, Smitheram and Christensen swim Friday at the Mount San Antonio College Meet of Champions.

BOYS’ GOLF

Fountain Valley 181, Newport Harbor 206

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Brad Tapfer shot one-over par 37 to lead the Sailors in Wednesday’s Sunset League match at Mile Square Park.

Mason Moody (38), Ryan Standt (43) Landon Knight (44) and Thomas Terry (44) also scored for Newport Harbor (5-8, 0-8 in league).

Newport Harbor Coach Scott Tarnow said Fountain Valley’s team score of 181 (one-over par) was a school record.

The Sailors’ next match is Tuesday at Old Ranch against Los Alamitos.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

St. Margaret’s def. Sage Hill

Zach Drobenko finished with 14 kills for the host Lightning in an Academy League match St. Margaret’s won, 25-13, 25-19, 25-23, on Wednesday.

Matt Chen added seven kills for Sage Hill.
