BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Corona del Mar def. Irvine

IRVINE — Joey Martino finished with 11 kills to lead a balanced attack for the Sea Kings, who won the Pacific Coast League match, 25-16, 25-16, 25-22, Tuesday.

Kevin Fults (seven kills), Andrew Boukather (seven kills, six digs), Augie Miller (six kills), Ryan Moss (six kills), Tommy Brooks (five kills, three blocks), Matt Ctvrtlik (30 assists) and Brett Shisler (10 assists, two digs) contributed for CdM (18-2, 6-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

The Sea Kings play host to Woodbridge Friday.

Oxford Academy def. Sage Hill

CYPRESS — Zach Drobenko recorded 20 kills for the Lightning, who lost the Academy League match, 25-17, 26-24, 24-26, 25-20, Tuesday.

Matt Chen finished with 25 digs and five aces for Sage Hill.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Newport Harbor 13, Edison 5

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Reese Stalder swept at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0, for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Tuesday at Edison.

David Lee swept at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-4, and the No. 3 doubles team of Garrett Hall and Peirce Ward upset Edison’s No. 1 duo, 6-3.

Newport Harbor (12-3, 5-2 in league) also beat visiting Huntington Beach, 15-3, Monday. The No. 1 doubles team of Sean Perrier and Garrett Byers won two of two, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Phillip Vu and David Schaefer. Eddie Nolan and Mark Scaefer won a set, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles.

Corona del Mar 11, Woodbridge 7

IRVINE — Bjorn Hoffmann swept in singles for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Tuesday.

Carson Williams and Josh Kliger swept in doubles for CdM (13-3, 6-1 in league).

Sage Hill 13, Oxford Academy 5

Eric Magliarditi and David Kim swept in doubles for the Lightning in Tuesday’s Academy League match at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.

Shayan Emtiaz and Han Chin won twice in doubles for Sage Hill, which is locked into second place in the league with one match remaining.

Omead Moini and Kenan Torlic each won two singles sets for Sage Hill (9-4, 4-3 in league).

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 10, Santa Margarita 4

Sophomore Stephen Von Der Ahe scored five goals to lead the Sea Kings Tuesday at CdM.

Junior Noah Howe added two goals and one assist, while sophomore Jason Simaan won nine of 10 faceoffs and 9 out of 10 faceoffs and Jr. Hoyt Crance made 10 saves for CdM (11-1), ranked No. 2 in Southern California by laxpower.com. Santa Margarita is ranked No. 6.

CdM plays host to St. Margaret’s Thursday at 5 p.m., in a matchup of last year’s U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section South Division championship game.

BASEBALL

Sage Hill 12, Chadwick 5

PALOS VERDES PENINSULA — Parker Reposa went five for five with one run and one run batted in and Conner Bock pitched a complete game to lead the Lightning in the nonleague game Tuesday.

Bock, who was three for five with three runs and three RBIs struck out five, walked two and allowed four hits and one earned run for Sage Hill (11-3), which had 18 hits.

University 5, Corona del Mar 3

Justin Hess, who was one for three at the plate, pitched six shutout innings and allowed just three hits in relief with three strikeouts for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game at CdM Tuesday.

CdM (3-5 in league) committed four errors in the first two innings, as Uni scored four runs in the first and one in the second.

Ryan Pierce (two for three, RBI), Tyler Duncan (two for four, RBI) and Brett Olson (two for three, RBI) contributed offensively for the Sea Kings, who play at University Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Laguna Beach 13, Estancia 1

Dylan Laurent, Jackson Letterman, Jason Rodriguez had one hit each for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

Jake Brown scored a run for Estancia (6-12, 4-4 in league), which plays at Laguna Beach on Friday.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 22, Woodbridge 11

Payton Carter scored seven goals and finished with three assists for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast Legaue game Monday at CdM.

Kacie Kline (six goals, two assists), Kendall Mulavney (one goal, two assists), Sabrina Smith (three goals, one assist), Paige Nelson (three goals, three assists), Kennedy Mulvaney (one goal) and Megan Reiden (one goal) contributed for CdM (12-3, 7-0 in league).

BOYS’ GOLF

Woodbridge 188, Corona del Mar 192

Drew Hanson shot two-over-par 36 for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club Tuesday.

Hale Furey (37), Karick Brown (39), Ian Fletcher (40) and Chase Furey (40) also scored for CdM (12-3, 4-2 in league), which competes against University on Thursday at NBCC.
