High School Roundup: Super win for Sage

Freshman Brett Super pitched 5 2/3 strong innings yielding only two hits and one run while striking out seven to earn the win at Sage Hill Thursday.

The Lightning (10-3, 5-1 in Academy League) made the most of their four hits.

Defensively, senior center fielder Adam Ellingson made three crucial catches and Kellen Ochi came in to pitch the last 1 1/3 innings to help Sage hold on for the win.

The Lightning next play at Palos Verdes Peninsula Chadwick in a nonleague game Tuesday.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Sage Hill 11, Whitney 7

The Lightning took six singles and five doubles in Academy League action Thursday.

Freshmen Omead Moini and Adam Langevin along with junior Kian Etedali each took two of three singles matches while senior David Kim and freshman Grant Janavs along with junior Shayan Emtiaz and freshman Han Chin also took two of three in doubles for Sage Hill (8-4, 3-3 in league).

Whitney dropped to 8-5, 2-4.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Godinez 106, Estancia 72

Jason Chesemore as a double winner for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League meet Wednesday.

He won the 50-yard freesyle in 24.33 seconds and 100 free in 55.11 for Estancia (3-4, 0-3 in league).

Chris De Frenza touched first in the 200 individual medley in 2:22.87.
