SANTA ANA — Sophomore Michael Chen earned medalist honors with a three-under-par 69, helping the Pirates win the Orange Empire Conference tournament with a team total of 377 at Santa Ana Country Club on Wednesday.

Marc Reyes shot a 70 for OCC, while Jem Young had a 78.

Santiago Canyon placed second at 383, followed by Riverside (401), Saddleback (416), Cypress (420) and Irvine Valley (420).

SAN MARCOS — The Pirates swept the Pacific Coast Conference road match, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21, on Wednesday, setting up a first-place showdown at home against Grossmont on Friday.

OCC and Grossmont each enter the 6 p.m. contest at 8-1 in conference, and Pirates Coach Travis Turner said the winner claims the conference.
