BOYS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 12, Los Alamitos 2

Junior Noah Howe finished with four goals and five groundballs, helping the Sea Kings improve to 5-0 in nonleague play on Wednesday.

CdM’s Ben Palitz recorded two goals, two assists and five groundballs, while Sherwin Gersten and Niño Chavez had two goals and two groundballs apiece.

Jason Simaan won 14 faceoffs.

Goalies Hoyt Crance and Nick Guizen combined for eight saves.

The Sea Kings play host to Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Newport Harbor 13, Servite 6

ANAHEIM — Kole Escher produced three goals, three assists, a ground ball, a knock down and a take away for the visiting Sailors on Tuesday.

Newport Harbor’s Alex Fuller finished with three goals, a groundball and a takeaway.

Nathan Chaness scored twice, won six faceoffs and had four groundballs.

Chas Beek had eight groundballs and two goals.

The Sailors travel to rival Corona del Mar on Friday to play the Battle of the Bay at 3:30 p.m.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Corona del Mar def. Beckman

Ryan Moss had 12 kills for the Sea Kings, who earned a 25-7, 25-23, 26-24 sweep at home Wednesday in their Pacific Coast League opener.

Joey Martino had seven kills for CdM, and Sam Kobrine added six. Brett Schisler dished out 40 assists.

CdM (11-2), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays host to Irvine on Friday night.

Sage Hill def. Whitney

Zach Drobenko recorded 25 kills and 11 aces for the Lightning in their 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 15-11 Academy League win Tuesday at Sage Hill.

Matt Chen added 15 kills and Jack Dickinson made four blocks for the Lightning (1-8, 1-2 in league).

Sage Hill fell to St. Margaret’s in a league match Wednesday.

The Tartans won 25-13, 25-14, 21-25, 25-9. No statistics from the match were provided.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 14, San Clemente 4

Bjorn Hoffmann and Ryan Andrews swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Wednesday’s nonleague match at CdM.

Tyler Gaede and Samee Aboubakare won twice in doubles for CdM (8-1), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

SOFTBALL

Estancia 5, Anaheim 0

Kelly Hinkle had nine strikeouts for the Eagles in Wednesday’s nonleague game at home.

Steph Enriquez had a base hit, a walk and two runs scored for Estancia (9-2). Bree Vernon had a double and scored twice.

Amy Moya also had a base hit and run for the Eagles.

BOYS’ GOLF

Estancia 204, Laguna Beach 213

ALISO VIEJO — Brad Ehrhorn earned medalist honors with a four-over par 39 in the Eagles’ Orange Coast League match at Aliso Viejo Golf Club on Wednesday.

Kobi Uta finished with a 40 and Jaime Ramirez had a 41 for Estancia (4-4, 2-0 in league).

The Eagles play Lakewood on Monday at Skylinks Golf Course in Long Beach at 2:30 p.m.

Corona del Mar 191, Northwood 206

Karick Brown and Chase Furey both shot two-over par 37 for the Sea Kings in Wednesday’s Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club.

Hale Furey, John Hong and Ian Fletcher all shot 39 for CdM (8-1, 3-0 in league). Northwood’s Lawrence Tu was the medalist with a 35.

CdM plays Woodbridge on Thursday in another key league match at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 23, Woodbridge 11

Kacie Kline scored seven goals to lead the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.

Payton Carter added four goals and Kennedy Mulvaney had three goals for CdM (4-3, 2-0 in league).

Sabrina Smith had two goals, two assists and 11 draw controls, while Kate Allen made eight saves.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Calvary Chapel 97, Estancia 70

Jason Chesemore won the 200-yard individual medley for Estancia in 2 minutes, 28.66 seconds in the Orange Coast League opener Wednesday.

Estancia dropped to 3-2, 1-0 in league.

Laguna Beach def. Costa Mesa

LAGUNA BEACH — Mesa senior Tyler Connors made two CIF Southern Section Division 3 automatic cuts Wednesday in the Orange Coast League opener.

Connors finished the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 5.57 seconds to win. He was second in the 100 backstroke (56.82 seconds). Mustangs junior Raymond Andrade earned a consideration time in the 200 freestyle (1:58.47).
