Kelly Hinkle struck out seven in five innings for the Eagles in a Costa Mesa tournament game on Friday.

Estancia’s Izzy Morales and Chloe Davis each went two for three.

Stephanie Enriquez went two for two with a walk and two runs for the Eagles (2-0).

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

St. Margaret’s 17, Sage Hill 7

Claudia Noto finished with four goals for the host Lightning on Friday.

Sage Hill dropped to 0-2.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Yessenia Villa won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 23.71 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 6:21.52 during the Mustangs’ nonleague tri-meet at Costa Mesa on Friday.

Costa Mesa competes at the Los Amigos co-ed relays on Saturday.

Lauren Smith won the 200 individual medley (2:39.65) and the 100 freestyle (59.28). Bridgette Smitheram and Melissa Folkerts placed first and second, respectively, in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:13.16 and 1:17.40. Smitheram also finished third in the 100 freestyle (1:04.21).

The girls 400 freestyle relay of Folkerts, Smitheram, Villa and Smith finished first (4:16.33).

Devon Christensen finished first in the 50 freestyle in 28.49.

Costa Mesa competes at the Los Amigos co-ed relays on Saturday.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Tyler Connors won the 100-yard butterfly in 56.91 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 56.11, and he anchored the Mustangs’ 400 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish during a nonleague tri-meet at Costa Mesa on Friday.

The relay team also featured Andrew Palacios, Trent Teague and Raymond Andrade.

Costa Mesa is at the Los Amigos co-ed relays on Saturday.
