Paula Weishoff, who was 84-98 in six seasons as UC Irvine women’s volleyball coach, has left the program to become head coach at Concordia University.

Weishoff, a three-time Olympian considered by many to be the best female player in United States history, led the Anteaters to a 19-12 record, 9-7 in the Big West Conference in 2014.

After UCI went 22-8, 11-5 in conference in her first season in 2009, the Anteaters were 43-79, 17-49 in conference the next four seasons. UCI was 37-61 in conference in Weishoff’s six seasons.

She came to UCI from Concordia, which she led to a 146-33 record in five seasons, including two NAIA championship matches and two additional NAIA semifinal appearances.

She replaces Trevor Johnson, who guided Concordia the last two seasons and is now an assistant at Baylor.
