High School Roundup: Six wrestlers from CdM qualify for CIF

Pacific Coast League finals

IRVINE — Six Corona del Mar High wrestlers qualified for the CIF Southern Section tournament by placing in the top three Saturday at Irvine High.

Sophomore David Kaye (126 pounds), seniors Chris Croxton (126), Adam Reines (138) and Kaden Ebbinga (148) all placed second.

Sophomores Eric Asario (195) and Matt Morton (220) placed third.

Placing fourth and serving as alternates were sophomores Falcon Freeman (132) and Dean Ames.

The Sea Kings placed fourth in the tournament won by Irvine High.

The CIF tournament will be held Feb. 21 and 22 in Riverside.

Sage Hill 10, Calvary Chapel Downey 0

Rachael Jaffe, Tiffany Taylor and Isabella Christian scored two goals each for the Lightning in the Academy League match Friday.

Juliette Singarella , Marina Wild, Erica Lynn-Green and Meagan Gooding (71’). Tiffany Taylor had three assists, Claire Novotny had two assists and Meagan Gooding and Rachael Jaffe recorded one assist each for Sage Hill (10-5-2, 6-1-0 in league), which plays host to Whtiney Tuesday.
