John O'Connor scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday at CdM.

Max Premer also scored, assisted by Kyle Martin, for CdM (8-3-4, 2-0-2 in league). Senior Tommy Casey had six saves.

The Sea Kings, ranked No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division 3, play host to Northwood on Friday at 3:15 p.m.

GIRLS' WATER POLO

Costa Mesa 18, Godinez 6

Lauren Smith had seven goals and five steals for Mesa in Wednesday's Orange Coast League game at home.

Melissa Folkerts scored five goals, Hayley Petersen added three and Kirsten Gyorgy, Devon Christensen and Yesennia Villa also scored. Antonia Velasquez had seven saves for the Mustangs (9-11, 2-0 in league).

Costa Mesa plays at Saddleback next Wednesday.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Costa Mesa 43, Saddleback 28

SANTA ANA — Sophomore forward Mason Tufuga finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocks in the Mustangs' Orange Coast League contest on Wednesday.

Sean Comer had 17 points, six assists and six rebounds for Costa Mesa (14-6, 2-1 in league).

Eunsan Mo provided the Mustangs a spark off the bench, contributing four points and two steals.

Costa Mesa plays host to Calvary Chapel on Friday at 7 p.m.

Godinez 58, Estancia 49

Josh Mendoza had 28 points for the Eagles in Wednesday's Orange Coast League game at Estancia High.

Gunnar Johnston added eight points for Estancia (6-13, 1-2 in league), which plays at Saddleback on Friday.

Natalia Bruening had 13 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for the Sea Kings Tuesday.

Krista Anderson had 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals, and Chanel Wosoughkia had nine points and five rebounds for CdM (13-6, 2-2 in league).
