The visiting Chargers remained unbeaten in Orange Empire Conference play while handing the Pirates their first conference loss Wednesday.

Cypress improved to 12-8, 3-0 against Orange Empire Conference foes, while OCC falls to 10-8, 1-1.

Sophomore Raechelle Davis had 16 points and 18 rebounds for OCC. She connected on seven of 12 field-goal attempts, while adding three blocks and two steals.

Sophomore Channelle DiCroce had 10 points and 11 rebounds for OCC.

Coach Mike Thornton’s Pirates, who have lost six of their last eight games, play host to Saddleback on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Noah Prouse had 31 points and nine rebounds for the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Wednesday. Prouse was 12 for 17 from the field.

OCC falls to 6-13, 0-2 in conference.

Cypress improves to 6-12, 1-2.

Brad Buchignani had 14 points for OCC, which has lost four straight and five of its last six.

OCC plays host to Saddleback on Friday.
