Lions recognized

Vanguard University tied for 13th in the Fall 2014 NAIA Directors Cup, the school’s best showing for the fall sports season.

Vanguard earned 159 points, with 73 coming from a fifth-place finish in women’s volleyball, 70 for a fifth-place finish in men’s soccer and 25 for a 17th-place finish in women’s soccer.

Vanguard was second among five Golden State Athletic Conference schools in the rankings. The Master’s College was ninth.
