High School Football: Costa Mesa trio on All-OCL first team

Costa Mesa High standout two-way player Oronde Crenshaw highlights one of three Mustang football players receiving first-team All-Orange Coast League laurels.

Costa Mesa senior defensive lineman Anthony McCormick and senior Noah JeyaRajah, a quarterback and linebacker, join Crenshaw on the first team.

Crenshaw, a repeat first-team selection, started at middle linebacker and tailback for Costa Mesa (4-6, 2-3 in league). Coach Wally Grant said Boise State, Utah, San Diego State, UCLA and Missouri are recruiting Crenshaw, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior.

Crenshaw finished with a team-best 110 tackles, six for losses. He caused two fumbles and recovered two fumbles.

As a running back, Crenshaw rushed 147 times for 1,391 yards and 17 touchdowns. The touchdowns on the ground rank No. 1 in the Newport-Mesa area.

McCormick recorded 46 tackles (eight for losses), 5 1/2 sacks and seven quarterback hurries.

JeyaRajah completed 47 of 84 passes for 740 yards and 11 touchdowns, with five interceptions. He rushed 31 times for 284 yards and one touchdown.

As a linebacker, JeyaRajah finished with 48 tackles (five for losses), two interceptions, one sack and two caused fumbles.
