Last year, Moore experienced winning it all for the first time. That same year, he played with his brother, David Moore, a senior linebacker. He even started alongside him once.

Now, the younger Moore is making the calls on defense.

Coach Scott Meyer said Moore is the leader of CdM's defense. The last time a CdM defense opened the playoffs with two shutouts was 23 years ago. The Sea Kings went on to complete their back-to-back title run.

"He's been great all year," Meyer said of Moore, before comparing him to his older brother. "[David] showed a lot more outward emotion during the game. Alex just goes out there and makes plays, then gets up and goes back to the huddle and makes the call, and goes and makes another play."
