COSTA MESA – Sophie Evans and Stephanie Storch each scored in the quarterfinals of the L.A. Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions at Harper School on Monday.

Newport Harbor (22-2) advanced to the semifinals Wednesday, when it plays the winner of the Marina vs. Harvard-Westlake quarterfinal.

Senior Mary Yeager had an assist for the Tars, who outshot Bonita, 19-6.

CIF individuals

LONG BEACH – Corona del Mar senior Tiffany Su (six-over-par 78) and Estancia senior Ashley Peters both (85) both advanced Monday at the CIF Southern Section Individual Regional Tournament at El Dorado Park Golf Course.

Su and Peters, a two-time Orange Coast League champion, will compete in the regional finals at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc on Monday.

Estancia sophomore Cassie Stevenson shot 88, missing the cut by two strokes.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Newport Harbor 17, Fountain Valley 1

NEWPORT BEACH — Natalie Cernius won all 18 games at No. 2 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Alex Aiello and Riley Mathies won 18 of 20 to pace the host Sailors in the Sunset League finale Monday.

Lauren Conway won her two No. 3 singles sets, 6-0, 6-0, before being subbed out.

Newport Harbor (17-2, 10-0 in league) competes in the league individual finals beginning Wednesday in Seal Beach.
