SAN JOSE — Newport Harbor won twice Friday to advance to the semifinals where it will meet rival Corona del Mar on Saturday.

The Sailors (19-3) beat Bellarmine, 14-8, to advance to the semifinals. Curtis Fink and Preston Lee scored three goals each. K.J. Kelly, Dan Stevens and Henry McNamara added two goals each for Newport Harbor, which beat beat Clovis West, 16-4, earlier in the day.

LAKE ELSINORE — Hayden Swift scored three goals for the Eagles in the nonleague game Friday.

Goalie Garrett Henscheid made nine saves for Estancia.

Tournament of Champions

SANTA BARBARA — Corona del Mar won twice Friday to advance to Saturday’s semifinals at Santa Barbara High.

The Sea Kings (24-5) opened with a 25-22, 25-11, 25-15 win over Long Beach Wilson.

CdM then advanced to the semifinals after beating Mira Costa, 25-22, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23.

The Sea Kings will face Marymount in a semifinal match Saturday.

Tournament of Champions

SANTA BARBARA — Newport Harbor split in its first two matches Friday.

La Costa Canyon beat the Sailors, 25-15, 25-22, 25-15, to open the tournament at Santa Barbara High.

Carolyn Bockrath had nine kills, Gabby Shelley had five kills, Torey Thompson had 21 assists and Hunter Jennings had four digs.

Newport Harbor (17-9) then beat Esperanza, 25-21, 25-23, 25-22, at Dos Pueblos.

Shelley had nine kills, Bockrath had eight kills, Sierra Brown had seven kills, Thompson had 31 assists and Jennings had three digs.

The Sailors face Long Beach Wilson in consolation play Saturday.

Sage Hill def. Whitney

CERRITOS — Maggie Danner had 12 kills and two aces to help lead the Lightning to a 25-9, 26-24, 25-21 Academy League win Friday.

Kekai Whitford had 10 kills and 10 digs for Sage Hill (16-6, 6-3 in league).
