SANTA ANA — Dong-Gi Shin scored two goals to help the Pirates deal the Dons their first Orange Empire Conference loss of the season Tuesday.

Jorge Sanchez had one goal and two assists, while Brandon Bauman had two assists for OCC (7-3-1, 3-2 in conference). Chase Nugent also scored for the Pirates, while goalie Connor Nelson made seven saves.

Santa Ana (7-2-3, 4-1) scored in the 37th minute, but Shin responded with two goals in the 38th and 46th minute. Sanchez scored in the 58th minute. Dons came within, 3-2 in the 66th minute, but Nugent provided the insurance goal in the 83rd minute.

Vanguard 1, The Master’s 0 (OT)

SANTA CLARITA — Charlotte Wisniewski scored in overtime, in the 92nd minute to lead the Lions to the Golden State Athletic Conference win Tuesday.

Lauren Evans provided the assist, a free kick from 18 yards out that Wisniewski headed in.

Goalie Lauren Terry made four saves in her shutout for Vanguard (9-2, 5-0 in conference).

The Master’s is 9-1-3, 4-1.

Orange Coast 4, Irvine Valley 1

IRVINE — Sarah Gomez and Sarah MacArthur scored two goals each for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Tuesday.

Helen Guilen, Courtney Garrity and Caitlin Padian had one assist each for OCC (11-2, 6-2 in conference), while goalie Katelyn O’Banion made one save.

OCC and IVC (2-8-2, 0-6-2) were tied, 1-1, through 68 minutes, but the Pirates scored three goals in a 12-minute stretch to earn the win.

SAMMAMISH, Wash. — UC Irvine remains near the top of the leaderboard after two rounds at Sahalee Country Club.

The Anteaters are third in the 16-team tournament entering Wednesday’s final round. UCI has a 36-hole total of 603, trailing just Washington (586) and UC Davis (595).

UCI’s Michelle Park tied for the second-lowest round of the day Tuesday with a two-under-par 70 and is in fifth place with a two-round score of 145.

Washington’s SooBin Kim shot a five-under 67 in the second round and is the leader at six-under 138.

Luciane Lee of UCI shot a 78 Tuesday and is in 23rd place at 152. Ronnie Valerio (82) and Michelle Yang (80) are tied for 30th at 155 while Sara Banke is 48th at 160 after a round of 78.

UCI tees off in Wednesday’s final round beginning at 9:15 a.m.
