NEWPORT BEACH — Tara Hanna shot six-over-par 42 for the Sailors in the nonleague match Tuesday at Big Canyon Country Club.

Grace Farrell (43), Christina Ferraro (51), Hannah Perry (54) and Tahya Corona (58) also scored for Newport Harbor (0-3).

The Sailors play against Estancia at Santa Ana Country Club Wednesday at 3 p.m.

JSerra def. Sage Hill

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Sophomore setter Maddy Abbott recorded 31 assists, six digs and four kills for the Lightning, who suffered their first setback of the year with JSerra winning the nonleague match, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20, on Tuesday.

Halland Mckenna finished with 14 kills, 13 digs and one service ace for Sage Hill (3-1), ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section 3A poll.

Kekai Whitford had five kills, five aces and eight assists for the Lightning.

Sage Hill plays host to Ocean View on Friday at 5 p.m.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — Lauren Thaxter and Olivia Dajee won two of three sets in singles for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Sofia Chen and Siena Sharf won two sets for CdM (4-2), which plays host to Mater Dei Wednesday at 3 p.m.

ORANGE — The Eagles’ No. 3 singles player, junior Doris Corona, won two of three in a nonleague match Tuesday.

Corona lost to Orange’s No. 3, but then won, 6-1, 6-2 for Estancia (1-4), which plays at Bolsa Grande Wednesday.

NEWPORT BEACH — Jill Messersmith scored two goals and had an assist for the Sailors in the nonleague game Monday.
