The Newport Lightning Basketball Club's 13-and-under boys' team went undefeated last weekend in the Huntington Beach Rebels July Shootout.

The Lightning earned a big victory over JSK Athletix 55-30, and a thrilling overtime win against Hoop Stars coached by former NBA player Joaquin Hawkins (Lakers, Clippers), 56-52.

The Lightning were led by Keisean South, who averaged 16 points per game, and 11 rebounds per game, Max Kline (11 points per game and 3.5 steals per game), and Logan Miller (4 ppg, six assists per game).

Harrison Carter (6.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game), Ryan Stone (3.5 ppg), Brett Greenlee (3.5 steals per game, 3.0 ppg), Ben Humphreys (6.0 ppg , 6.0 rpg), Augie Miller (4.0 ppg , 8.0 rpg), Trevor Schwartz (3.0 ppg) and David Karamardian (2.0 spg , 2.0 rpg) rounded out the scoring and other statistics.

Charlie Evans and Caleb O'Neil provided strong interior rebounding and excellent defense throughout the weekend.
